Arts and Culture
Art is a vital role in all our farms as farming is an art in itself, working with the seasons upon times pallet. Our main hub will be home to autonomous arts space for art and intercultural programming that seeks to expand the dialogue around the vitality of communities living in relationship to land and how that is enhanced or threatened by various social, political and economic forces. In partnership with innovative autonomous arts spaces such as the Red Poppy Art House in San Francisco, NOSOTROS in Athens, Greece, EDELO in Chiapas, and the Department of Post-Capitalist Studies at CIIS in San Francisco, our space will be another place of encounter where working artists and scholars from around the world can continue ongoing critical dialogue and expression around the issues surrounding our tables. Cornerstone Farms Arts Program includes regular art work generation and cultural programming on site, as well as a bi-annual residency program open to visiting artists and thinkers from every discipline, offering a unique place of intersection between land workers, indigenous community and culture creators.
